beauty in the details

wildflower

i really need to get a book on local wild flowers, so i know what flowers i’m taking pictures of 🙂 .  i am constantly fascinated by their beauty and details, but it would be nice to know what they are called – mostly because i’m a nerd with a need to know about everything i see.  would it make them anymore beautiful if i knew what they were? or would the name be a disappointment?  “they” say “a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.”  but would anyone get close enough to tell if they knew it was called something like stinkwort?  😆

edit.  i have now identified this one as “old man’s whiskers” , and i am a little disappointed ’cause i really don’t see how it got the name.  i mean shouldn’t something called old man’s whiskers be fuzzy white or silver at least?
