kids are still sick, so i have to resort to an older picture instead of taking new ones.
i love the effect of light coming in a window.

i changed ember’s eyes to different purple ones that i had in my “eye box”. they are lighter, but with a dark ring and one size smaller. i didn’t think they would work, but they fit really well. i love her new look and she is now much easier to photograph, (even though the lighting right now is horrible for taking pics.)
she is wearing a new thread lace shawl i made for her, not finished or blocked, but it really brought out the color in her eyes.
now if i could just figure out where i got the eyes from! (anyone know/recognize them?)
here is quinn as he looked before a visit to the “spa”
i know normally boys don’t do “spa visits” but all my kids have to go at least once 😆
and now my shy boy is home to stay (or maybe i should say “up”, since the spa is in the basement 😉 )
he is a real flames fan and claims he wrestled the shirt from a bear, but i have my doubts…
i finally went out today and took some quick shots of ember (chloe) and can introduce her. it was a horrible day for pics with the sun going in and out of the clouds, making it really hard to get the right exposure, but i did get a few i liked.
she is going to get new eyes before the next photoshoot. her deep purple ones look great in person but in a photo keep looking like they are all pupil, or blowing out and looking bloodshot.
other than that i’m happy with the way she turned out – sexy yet demure at the same time.
the shirt was really big but i bunched it up behind her and loved the slightly sexy look it gave
after lunch we headed back home. reluctant to get right back into our normal routine we made one last stop at big hill springs provincial park
over the river and through the woods…
there were some lovely rock cliffs to climb
and i even found a cave.
i wanted to go in and do some exploring, but was afraid i might wake a hibernating bear, so instead i just peeked in the entrance. not having a flashlight with me i couldn’t see very far.
i ended by sitting on the bridge and dreaming of spring, when we can come out and swim in the creek
we slept in late today, the last day of our vacation, then headed off on our last hike in banff.
lichen covered rocks are so much fun to climb, and make wonderful backdrops.
the view from here was incredible! i really hated to leave. we’ve had so much fun on this holiday and it’s always hard to go back to the “real” world. :sigh but life intrudes and it’s time to go.
after lunch we hiked out to the cave and basin. it is actually closed for renovations right now but the walk was pretty.
another blowing hair shot. have i mentioned that i love these?
a long road through the snow. good thing i wore my boots.
taking pictures of ducks on the river.
they made me take one more “fashion” pic.
we have another busy day planned. off to little bow falls this morning and then hiking to the cave and basin in the afternoon.
the rocks by the falls were a great place for another photo shoot. i love the look of wind in my hair. makes me almost look like a real model 😉 the white blur behind me is the frozen falls.
the wind was chilly and i started to turn as red as my hair so i popped my hoody back on. the sweaters together look so chic.
finally fashion gave way to warmth and i put my hood up for the rest of the trip
