it’s still raining so i took more pictures and i’ve been playing in photoshop. i liked the feel of them in black and white, somehow it captures the mood better…
rainy day
i was sitting at the table having lunch, looking out the window through the rain. i just had to try and capture what i saw and these are the result…
patiently waiting
bbq anyone?
hazy colors
swap dress
now that my swap partner has received her dress and i won’t be spoiling the surprise i can post a picture of a tiny crocheted dress ensemble that i made. it is crocheted with fine soysilk thread on a 1mm hook. then dyed with blue and green koolaid. the darker blue on the flowers was painted on with a fabric dye pen. the ribbon was undyed silk that i dyed blue at the same time. i forgot to put anything in for size comparison, but she says it fits her 11.2cm/4.4″ pukipuki. it was supposed to be for a 9.7cm realpuki, but i was working off measurements instead of an actual model and i miscalculated. lucky for me she had both sizes and was gracious about my mistake.
banff/lake louise trip day 6 afternoon
after lunch we hiked out to the cave and basin. it is actually closed for renovations right now but the walk was pretty.
another blowing hair shot. have i mentioned that i love these?
a long road through the snow. good thing i wore my boots.
taking pictures of ducks on the river.
they made me take one more “fashion” pic.
banff/lake louise trip day 6 morning
we have another busy day planned. off to little bow falls this morning and then hiking to the cave and basin in the afternoon.
the rocks by the falls were a great place for another photo shoot. i love the look of wind in my hair. makes me almost look like a real model 😉 the white blur behind me is the frozen falls.
the wind was chilly and i started to turn as red as my hair so i popped my hoody back on. the sweaters together look so chic.
finally fashion gave way to warmth and i put my hood up for the rest of the trip
banff/lake louise trip day 5 afternoon
we left lake louise and went to johnson’s canyon for a great winter hike. the lower falls were frozen over and all we could see was the water flowing out beneath the ice.
hiking up to the upper falls we found a bench buried so deeply in the snow that it was the perfect size for me.
because it was cooler hiking through the trees i wore my new owl hat to keep my ears from freezing
i thought you might like to see a closeup of the lace edging and crocheted features.
across the canyon was a brave tree clinging to a tiny ledge and reaching for the sky. of course i had to take a picture!
banff/lake louise trip day 5 morning
this was our last day at lake louise so we decided to take advantage of the hotel for some atmosphere shots.
there were some great stained glass windows. unfortunately my photography skills weren’t good enough to capture most of them.
my first (and second) faceup part 5
here are the sister’s together, all done and ready to try on new clothes, so that’s my next project. 🙂
and just because i think the girls are truly adorable here are pictures of them separately:
and ananda
her new hair color is reddish blonde. it was supposed to be carrot colored, but has just a hint of red. it looks both redder and darker in the picture than it really is.
banff/lake louise trip day 4 evening
after dinner we went up to the lounge to relax
the chairs were really comfortable and had a kind of old world feel to them.
black and white seemed to somehow fit the age of the hotel
there was a cozy fire burning, so i sat on the hearth for a while to luxuriate in the warmth
my first (and second) faceup part 4
now they have lashes and eyes.
ananda has lovely new glass eyes.
ellyce has to wait for her new eyecolor. she was supposed to fit either 12mm or 14mm but the 14’s were much to big for the socket and i didn’t have another pair of 12’s, so they are now on order.
