If God wanted me to be able to touch my toes he would have made it possible for me to knit with my feet.

what we got in return
here is an absolutely gorgeous outfit we got from smilga (see link on side to see more of her wonderful stuff!)
beezie wanted to show how nice it looks with her new hair and of course her ever present goggles 😆
we were fighting the wind (blowing her hair) our cat (sure she must be a strange mouse) and strong shadows ’cause it was kind of late in the day. i’ll have to take a better picture later.
eiderdown/quilt swap
i joined a swap for bedding for realpukis/ pukipukis. my partner liked purple and teddies. it was fun to do ’cause i love purple and teddies too, so i had lots of fabric that worked. she sent me the dimensions she wanted and here is what i made. i think it came out rather well.
here is a picture she took of her cute zoey with her new quilt
i think she looks rather sweet don’t you?
swap dress
now that my swap partner has received her dress and i won’t be spoiling the surprise i can post a picture of a tiny crocheted dress ensemble that i made. it is crocheted with fine soysilk thread on a 1mm hook. then dyed with blue and green koolaid. the darker blue on the flowers was painted on with a fabric dye pen. the ribbon was undyed silk that i dyed blue at the same time. i forgot to put anything in for size comparison, but she says it fits her 11.2cm/4.4″ pukipuki. it was supposed to be for a 9.7cm realpuki, but i was working off measurements instead of an actual model and i miscalculated. lucky for me she had both sizes and was gracious about my mistake.
banff/lake louise trip day 5 afternoon
we left lake louise and went to johnson’s canyon for a great winter hike. the lower falls were frozen over and all we could see was the water flowing out beneath the ice.
hiking up to the upper falls we found a bench buried so deeply in the snow that it was the perfect size for me.
because it was cooler hiking through the trees i wore my new owl hat to keep my ears from freezing
i thought you might like to see a closeup of the lace edging and crocheted features.
across the canyon was a brave tree clinging to a tiny ledge and reaching for the sky. of course i had to take a picture!
thread crocheted owls
i’ve been having fun lately making little crocheted owls for my small cousins. this is a rather odd line up of them, ’cause i used them in an assignment for my photography course. we were learning how angles and aperture size affects depth of field. i love how the reflections showed up so clearly on the table in this photo.
here’s another shot against some textbooks, also part of the assignment, but it gives a better idea of the size. we had to line the objects up against a flat background for the second part of the assignment, and i couldn’t resist the juxtaposition of cute little crocheted things against serious math texts.
on top is another of my all time favorite books ” a wrinkle in time” by madeleine l’engle. i’m re-reading the series for the umpteenth time.
