The third candle symbolizes joy and is called the “Shepherd’s Candle.” To the shepherd’s great joy, the angels announced that Jesus came for everyone, even humble, unimportant people like them, too.

we been out off-roading this week. several of the kids have come along and we had great plans for lovely photo shoots in the woods, unfortunately it as been pouring rain. now this makes for wonderfully fun off-roading and glorious sprays of muddy water as we drive through huge puddles, but it is not great for picture taking and most of the kids refused to get out of the jeep at all! mr tumnus had a sharp eye out and spyed some lovely fairy mushrooms that he just had to have for dinner. i managed to get a quick shot of him, dripping with rain and a little muddy, just about to pick a nice basket full.

clearing backgrounds

on a field trip with on of my kids, as the “official”event photographer, i came home with a whole pile of pictures that needed to have all the extra people photoshopped out. there are various reasons why kids can’t be photographed but the end result is that no picture can be used that has more than one child in it, and many of those pictures can only be seen by the staff and parent(s) of that particular child. at a crowded place like the zoo, that poses a lot of interesting challenges and requires me to stretch my skills in using photoshop. now obviously i can’t post any of the photoshopped pictures, but i though i’d put up some of the interesting (to me at least) animal shots which i have done using the same techniques.

this one gets rid of all of the annoying people in the background using a stained glass effect. it would be really expensive in real life, but wouldn’t it be cool?

flamingo
this one makes it lok as if there is a wall of watery glass around the enclosure.

crowned crane

i think God must really have a sense of humor when i see some of the animals he made.  i can see him sitting there smiling and thinking “now what should i do with THIS one”  i’m sure he likes it when we smile or giggle too.

i'm late, i'm late

sometimes i feel like i’m always rushing and never get anywhere.

The future is something which everyone reaches at the rate of 60 minutes an hour, whatever he does, whoever he is.

magpie in winter

i don’t like magpies.  they really aren’t nice birds, but they are undeniably striking none the less.
