early fall pictures i just hadn’t got around to publishing. i love these colors
neither fish nor fowl….
this is the kind of day i abhor the most, the sky cold and gray, the world brown and drear, without even the leavening of a white blanket of snow. summer is over, the fall colors are gone and i am left to dream of spring – a long way off. it takes a lot of effort to find beauty in a day like this, with none of autumn’s glory nor yet winter’s charm. this picture perhaps suits the day. the flower like the weather neither true flower nor yet seedhead, neither fish nor fowl…
larkspur
i love the color in this flower, such a gorgeous combination of blue and purple. it would make a lovely dress for one of my girls, maybe an iridescent dupioni silk would come close.
red bud… yellow flower
this little plant was amazing. bright red buds open to brilliant yellow flowers, the kind of combination that only God could make.
golden ragwort
it’s kind of a dingy day here. the kind of day that needs a floral pick me up. hope you find it cheering as well
fall colors
we went out (a little late this year) to try and capture the beauty of the fall colors. a lot of the leaves are already on the ground, but there are some beautiful golds and yellows to be seen. i got some scenic views that i really liked but wanted to capture some of the reds and burgundies that you can only see close up. so today’s pictures are of roses. not the flowers that you normally see in pictures, but rosehips and leaves. hope you enjoy them as much as i did.
first we see a rosehip glowing in the afternoon sun
stepping back a bit the leaves begin to come into view.
