{"id":4353,"date":"2018-12-10T09:05:21","date_gmt":"2018-12-10T16:05:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.onebluestocking.ca\/blog\/?p=4353"},"modified":"2018-12-09T15:06:41","modified_gmt":"2018-12-09T22:06:41","slug":"a-door-for-the-caravan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.onebluestocking.ca\/blog\/?p=4353","title":{"rendered":"a door for the caravan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>i ordered an 85 mm <a href=\"https:\/\/www.etsy.com\/ca\/listing\/234210193\/3d-round-door-hinge-3-peice-set-fairy?ref=related-1\">door<\/a> for my realpuki caravan a while back, but due to the mail strike here, it just arrived.  it was worth the wait though, the detail is fabulous.<br \/>\nthey&#8217;ll have to stoop a bit to get in, but the size was the right fit for the caravan. and since i am putting it on the back wall, it won&#8217;t actually open anyway \ud83d\ude42<br \/>\nhere&#8217;s how it came.  the details were actually in a square but i took the outside edges off right away.  it was nicely packaged and arrived safely in spite of the intricacy<br \/>\n<a data-flickr-embed=\"true\"  href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/onebluestocking\/32377682498\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" title=\"fairy door\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/farm5.staticflickr.com\/4842\/32377682498_58e8e103b5.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"297\" alt=\"fairy door\"><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script> <\/p>\n<p>here i have separated out the parts i plan to use.  the notice for the door is cute, but doesn&#8217;t really fit my caravan, so for now at least i&#8217;m leaving it to the side.<br \/>\n<a data-flickr-embed=\"true\"  href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/onebluestocking\/32377683098\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" title=\"fairy door parts\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/farm5.staticflickr.com\/4865\/32377683098_edff9f61ca.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" alt=\"fairy door parts\"><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>and here are the pieces painted and waiting to dry.<br \/>\n<a data-flickr-embed=\"true\"  href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/onebluestocking\/44432849300\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" title=\"fairy door painted\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/farm2.staticflickr.com\/1956\/44432849300_4c600c7343.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"354\" alt=\"fairy door painted\"><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><br \/>\ni painted the door itself with a light coat of translucent blue.  i brushed it on lightly trying to leave unpainted any part that might have worn off.  the ironwork was first painted solid black, then dry-brushed with brown stain to mimic rust.  my puki&#8217;s really ought to take better care of their caravan!
