{"id":2670,"date":"2012-06-02T19:51:37","date_gmt":"2012-06-03T01:51:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.onebluestocking.ca\/blog\/?p=2670"},"modified":"2012-08-03T09:52:16","modified_gmt":"2012-08-03T15:52:16","slug":"building-a-treehouse","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.onebluestocking.ca\/blog\/?p=2670","title":{"rendered":"building a treehouse"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>i have several large bushes with severe die-back from a storm, and that combined with this picture from a japanese mook, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/onebluestocking\/7324052348\/\" title=\"treehouse 1 by onebluestocking, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8026\/7324052348_f40b7e53f0_z.jpg\" width=\"529\" height=\"640\" alt=\"treehouse 1\"><\/a>inspired me to make a treehouse for my tinies.<\/p>\n<p>of course being me i&#8217;m not sure the house will be recognizable by the time it&#8217;s done and it has already grown from just fitting my realpukis to being big enough for my pukifees and littlefees to play in.  i promised the rps a smaller one later.  anyhow i thought it might be interesting to chronicle how i made it as possible inspiration for someone else or just for my own interest \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p>i found some great flat frames at the dollar store to use as the floor and roof supports, and flat bamboo skewers to use as planking.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/onebluestocking\/7324053036\/\" title=\"treehouse 2 by onebluestocking, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7093\/7324053036_3f452daac0_z.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"458\" alt=\"treehouse 2\"><\/a><br \/>\ni glued them down in sections, periodically checking that they are staying reasonably straight,  the skewers themselves aren&#8217;t perfectly straight &#8211; though i did discard the really warped ones &#8211; so i&#8217;m planning to make it look as though a child helped build it. <\/p>\n<p>here is the floor laid down and glued in sections (just &#8217;cause my weights are too small to do it all at once.)  i&#8217;ll be cutting the points off later<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/onebluestocking\/7324053450\/\" title=\"treehouse 5 by onebluestocking, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7235\/7324053450_c18bf26648_z.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"329\" alt=\"treehouse 5\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>last picture today is of the &#8220;weights&#8221;
